COAD Programs: Leadership Programs

Welcome to the Leadership Programs area of the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development! We have two professional leadership development programs:

Community Action Leadership Academy: This is our state-wide leadership program specifically designed and only open to those who work for a Community Action Agency within the State of Ohio. This website is hosted by the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies. Please click on the logo to the right to go to the CALA website.
Appalachian Leadership Academy: This is our leadership program specifically designed for public, non-profit, and Community Action agencies throughout the 29-county region of Ohio Appalachia. Please click on the logo to the right to go to the ALA website.

The program goals are:
• Build leadership capacity in public and non-profit organizations within the Ohio Appalachian region.
• Equip the region's future leaders with the leadership skills necessary to guide Ohio Appalachia through change and into a viable future.
• Motivate the future leaders of Ohio Appalachia to think strategically about the region.
• Deepen the knowledge and understanding of the history, opportunities, resources and challenges of the Ohio Appalachian region.
