Appalachian Leadership Academy

Appalachian Leadership AcademyCOAD's Staff Development & Leadership Programs provide professional development and capacity-building opportunities for COAD member agencies and non-profit organizations which serve Appalachian Ohio. These programs and services provide skill-building opportunities through hands-on trainings delivered by experienced and knowledgeable faculty.

The ALA nurtures the leadership potential and supports the professional development of emerging leaders in order to sustain the growth and viability of agencies which serve Appalachian Ohio.

The program goals are:
• Build leadership capacity in public and non-profit organizations within the Ohio Appalachian region.
• Equip the region's future leaders with the leadership skills necessary to guide Appalachian Ohio through change and into a viable future.
• Motivate the future leaders of Appalachian Ohio to think strategically about the region.
• Deepen the knowledge and understanding of the history, opportunities, resources and challenges of the Ohio Appalachian region.
