Programs and Services

Ohio4Kids.org

The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development takes its commitment to the Southeast Ohio community very seriously. We invite you to learn more about the many programs we offer:

Early Care & Education Division Services

The COAD ECE Division's mission is to advocate and support the improvement and accessibility of care and education services for children and those who care for them.

Senior Programs

Since 1972, COAD’s Senior Programs have provided volunteer opportunities for individuals age 55 and older. The programs are designed to help older Ohioans find meaningful community service opportunities as mentors and tutors to disadvantaged children and youth, and to other senior citizens who need supportive service to remain in their own homes.

Community Development

COAD's Community Development Division provides services to low- and moderate-income Appalachian Ohio residents and service providers. The mission of the division is to help make housing and communities better and more sustainable places in which to live and work. The service network includes training, community development, and housing and energy efficiency-related programs.

Community Development

Continuing Education & Leadership Training

COAD's Staff Development & Leadership Programs provide professional development and capacity-building opportunities for COAD member agencies and non-profit organizations which serve Appalachian Ohio. These programs and services provide skill-building opportunities through hands-on trainings delivered by experienced and knowledgeable faculty.

Scholarships

The David V. Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to students who are residents of the 30 counties in the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development service area and want to attend college but lack the required resources.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

COAD's mission is to provide a unified voice and representation for its member agencies and the constituents that they serve - primarily low-income families, children, and the elderly. Since 1971, COAD has worked to improve the quality of life for all residents of Appalachian Ohio.
